Shandong will host the first Shandong Cuisine Creativity Competition in mid-November, according to the Commerce Department of Shandong Province.

The competition is set to promote the province`s cuisine and add more variations to the traditional food.

Competitors are expected to take part in two events – banquet and hot dish.

For the banquet event, teams will cook for eight-people within one hour. Dishes must present both Shandong cuisine flavors and creative ideas.

In the hot dish contest, competitors must present a dish for eight people within 30 minutes.

Winners of the competition will be awarded, and winning restaurants will have a chance to apply for the title of Top Restaurant of Shandong Cuisine.
