Developing vocational education has become a strategic option to revitalize the Chinese economy, better people`s living standards and promote social harmony, State Councilor Liu Yandong told the Asia-Europe Meeting Symposium on Technical and Vocational Education held in Qingdao on Tuesday.

In the past five years, vocational education has fostered 38 million graduates and trained 150 million laborers, said Lu Xin, vice-minister of education.
