Lingyan Temple: situated at the north part of the foot of Mount Tai, it is hidden in the high and steep mountains of the Lingyan Mountain. In the temple, ancient buildings are magnificent while historical and cultural relics are abundant and colorful. Built according to the topography of the mountain, the temple has 36 halls and 18 pavilions. Major cultural relics and historic sites are: Qianfo Hall and 40 arhat clay sculptures in the hall, Pizhi Tower, Huisuo Tower, Jicui Zhengming Hall, Daxiongbao Hall, etc.. After visiting the temple, Wang Shizhen, a well-known litterateur in the Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644 AD.), once said that, “it is no visiting if one visits Mount Tai without visiting the Lingyan Temple”.
