Village adopts 1,000 orphans, disabled kids

Villagers in Sancha have raised more than 1,000 orphans and disabled children since the 1960s with the limited government allowance. Now, about 270 children are being raised by two-thirds of the families in the village. More than 90 percent of the adopted children are disabled.
