Mountain Taishan Forum opened

The three-day Mountain Taishan Forum was opened on Nov 5 by Li Wuwei, vice-chairman of China`s National Committee of the Chinese People`s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at Tai’an in Shandong province.

Nearly 300 high-profile guests from home and abroad attended, including officials, education leaders and entrepreneurs. “The forum spans three days, and it is dedicated to discussing the cultural significance of Mountain Taishan and its future promotion and commercialization,” Tai’an Party Chief Yang Luyu said.

"The event will inject even more momentum into Tai’an’s active cultural industry. We saw it grow by 6.2 billion yuan during the first nine months of this year. This is a 30 percent increase from the same period last year,” he said.

Huang Sheng, vice governor of Shandong province, said the forum “will definitely play a positive role in promoting Mountain Taishan,” and said he believes the forum will also positively affect local tourism and economic development.

During the forum, entertainment events will highlight inter-provincial cultural development partnerships, and publicity campaigns will promote key local cultural projects.
