GE Healthcare will establish a 49-51 joint venture with China`s Shinva Medical Instrument Co Ltd in Zibo, Shandong province, according to Shinva`s filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Dec 23.

The project will focus on the development and manufacture of X-ray equipment, Shinva said. The new venture, Shinva GE Medical Systems Co Ltd, with a total investment of $25 million and registered capital of $10 million, is the fourth joint venture GE Healthcare has set up in China since its entry in 1979.
