The Boshan district in Zibo city, Shandong province, has become China`s largest colored glass producing base. Last year, the colored glass industry brought Boshan an output value of 2.6 billion yuan ($407.16 million), with some of its products sold to more than 40 countries and regions including the United States, Australia and Japan. Boshan is the birthplace of China`s glass industry, and its glass products date back to the early period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Boshan has at least 50 artists and thousands of glass technicians working in the industry`s more than 100 companies. These companies now produce 15 categories of glass products, covering more than 10,000 colors and shapes.
