HK start to cull chickens after one tested H5N1 positive

Staff members of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government cull chickens in a poultry market in Hong Kong, south China, Dec. 21, 2011. More than 17,000 chickens started to be culled at a poultry market in Hong Kong Wednesday after a chicken carcass was tested positive for the H5N1 avian influenza virus. The government is still tracing the source of the carcass and it is not known whether the chicken was from a local farm or imported. (Xinhua/Lui Siu Wai)
